In the dynamic world of electronic music, Milica is making waves with her innovative sound and energetic performances. Fresh off her travels and buzzing with excitement from the Lio’s Opening and Sunwaves festival, she’s here to share insights into her journey and creative process.

Hey Milica, how are you, what’s good in your world right now?

I just came back from travelling (Sunwaves, Mamaia) which was mind blowing and Lio Opening. It’s a busy period now as openings in Ibiza started and festival season in UK, Europe…

How did the collaboration with Stacey Pullen and Blackflag Recordings come about?

After I’ve finished my track ‘Somebody At Space’ I sent it out to a small group of DJ’s I know. Stacey was one of them. After the summer I’ve heard the track on one of his live mixes from Space Miami.

He asked me then if I would like to release it on Blackflag which he just started relaunching. It was like a dream coming true.

How would you describe the sound and vibe of your debut ep?

Energetic, rolling, mechanical experimenting kick and bass with warped vocals.

What draws you to the house and techno genres? Why do you love them?

Probably because of my personal life and experience. After exploring different types of music during my teenage years this is the music I got hooked on.

It’s the music that makes me feel good and want to move/dance.

What role do you think ibiza plays in shaping the sound of your own music – the weather, the vibe etc?

Ibiza is the place where you are permanently exposed to very good electronic music. In the gym there is a DJ booth, a little food stand is playing Ibiza Global Radio.

Listening to new music is what is shaping my ears and sound.

How does it feel to have your tracks already supported by artists like Marco Carola and The Martinez Brothers?

It’s a great feeling and makes me just want to do more.

What advice would you give to aspiring djs and producers that you could have done with yourself?

Be unique and create your own style. Don’t copy other DJ’s and producers. Just do it and try out. Music is so fascinating and endless possibilities of playing a track.

What I like about other DJ’s is when I hear something I haven’t heard before. It can even be the same track some big named DJ plays but play it YOUR way.

Do djing and producing feed into one another and inspire each other, is there a connection like that?

It’s a big connection and inspiration for one another. When you DJ you can see how the people react to certain sounds/vibes ect. and then create in the studio what sounds good on the dancefloor.

But it’s not necessary to pressure yourself to produce if you prefer to play and vice versa.

Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you’re excited about?

There are some exciting projects I am currently working on with other producers and vocalists.

What do you hope to achieve with your music career in the future?

For the moment I am very happy about the opportunities and chances that have been given to me. I have played in some of my favourite clubs in London and Ibiza. There are many more on my bucket list and more international.

Producing and releasing a #1 track is a big goal (manifesting working and manifestation🙏🏼).
