Can you tell us a bit about your musical background? How did you get started in the music industry?

My musical journey began a long time ago, back in my teenage years when I was immersed in jazz vocals. However, I always felt like something was missing. It wasn’t until I moved to Vilnius, Lithuania’s vibrant capital, that I discovered my true passion for electronic music. I dove headfirst into DJing and haven’t looked back since—over a decade now behind the decks.

A few years ago, I started feeling inspired to do more than just play tracks—I wanted to create them. So, I delved into the world of music production, devouring tutorials and books on the subject. With each track I create, I strive to push my boundaries and refine my skills, constantly evolving and improving.

What were some of your early influences, and how have they shaped your sound today?

My sound draws inspiration from legends like Ten Walls, Black Coffee, &ME, Yamil, and David Mayer. Each one has influenced me to push boundaries and find my own unique voice.

‘Boy From Suburbs’ is an intriguing name. What’s the story behind it?

My roots are in Ukmerge, Lithuania, a town that’s more Friday night bonfire than flashing lights. Growing up in a small town like that keeps my music real and gritty – that’s where “Boy From Suburbs” comes from.

Your latest single, “Senses,” features vocals from Red Luna. How did this collaboration come about?

Red Luna’s voice blew me away on social media. I had an instrumental brewing (now “Senses”) that felt incomplete. I sent it to her, and her vocals were the missing piece. Perfect harmony.

What was the creative process like working with Red Luna? Did you face any challenges or have any memorable moments during the production of “Senses”?

Working with Red Luna was pure creative fire. After hearing the demo, she spun some seriously cool atmospheric magic into the vocal lines, which totally elevate the track.

How do you think Red Luna’s vocals complement your style in “Senses”?

Red Luna’s voice isn’t just on “Senses,” it drives the track. Her vocals paint a picture, adding a whole new layer of emotion to the song.

Can you give us a glimpse into your studio setup? What are some of your essential pieces of equipment or software?

My studio essentials are VSTs: Serum, Moog, and Juno. They’re my sound design workhorses, but someday I dream of diving into analog hardware.

How do you usually start working on a new track? Do you have a particular routine or process?

Inspiration strikes like lightning. Sometimes it’s a random melody stuck in my head that I race to capture in Ableton. Other times, a drum groove becomes the foundation. “Senses” actually started with that groove.

The remix of “Senses” by MursiaVar has been gaining attention. What are your thoughts on the remix?

I love remix, and MursiaVar crushed their take on “Senses.” Their remix injects a whole new vibe, showcasing the original track’s versatility.

“Senses” was released on RIYthmica. Can you tell us how this release came to be and what it means for you to have your track on this label?

Riythmica represents creative freedom and great support. As a record label, it provides an incredible platform for artists to express themselves . The team at Riythmica believes in my vision and offers invaluable guidance and resources. Being part of this label has been inspiring, and it’s empowering to work with a group of professionals who are as passionate about music as I am.

What else can fans expect from you this year? Do you have any upcoming projects or releases?

Absolutely! I have several exciting releases on the horizon. On July 12th, my remix of Dani Sinergia’s ‘Rio’ will be released on Safe Music label. Then, on August 2nd, look out for ‘Nawe,’ a collaboration track with Black Savana featuring the amazing vocals of Nes Mburu, which will be released on Black Savana label. Finally, on August 9th, I’ll be returning to Riythmica with an instrumental single called ‘On.’

How has the response been to “Senses” so far? Any feedback that particularly stood out to you?

I was shocked when I saw how many artists supported “Senses.” To each and every one of them, I feel incredibly grateful. I was a bit surprised to see artists like Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, and Maxi Meraki on the list.

Looking ahead, are there any dream collaborations or new directions you’d like to explore in your music?

My dream collaborators list is endless! Maxi Meraki, Yamil, Liva K, Meera, Tripolism… I’d be honored to work with any of them.

Outside of music, what are some of your interests or hobbies?

When I’m not making music, you might find me on the basketball court. Basketball is huge in Lithuania, and I love it. It’s a great way to unwind and stay focused.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your musical journey?

I make music because it makes me happy. It’s a part of me. The entire journey, from inspiration to the finished track, keeps me going.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians looking to break into the industry?

To anyone feeling music is their calling: chase it ! It’s a long road, but if it brings you happiness, go for it!

‘Senses’ is to be released tomorrow July 5th, pre-order here.
