Sharply rising Miami-based Ibiza mainstay Cole Knight, versatile producer Joseph Ashworth and hit-maker KDA have combined for a triple-threat dancefloor single, “Money,” out now via Higher Ground.

“‘Money’ is all about feeling yourself,” says Knight. “A high-energy groove to get lost in.” The single is the perfect middle ground between techno and house, capturing the driving energy and glitchy sound design of the former while elevating the ladder’s hallmark, uplifting shuffle. It’s a collision of heavy and light sounds that works unexpectedly well, like a feather made of steel.

“This one came from a high-energy studio session,” says Joseph Ashworth on the collaboration. “The three of us on a hot summer’s day, windows open, 5 iced coffees each, speakers up. We landed on a chaotic slammer, out just in time for the Ibiza terraces.”

“We wanted to make a track that wouldn’t fail anywhere,” says KDA. “It sounds like all three of us—beat-heavy, memorable, and no sell-out. I’ve been called worse.”

“Money” marks Knight’s return to the label, following her debut on the label last year (her first official release ever), as she continues her touring through Ibiza with performances alongside Franky Rizardo and Montreal/New York City with Chris Lake.  Breaking out in 2022 as a resident DJ of the popular Los Angeles nightclub Sound, Cole Knight performed at a Spotify Coachella after-party with Swedish House Mafia and Damian Lazarus before she delivered her first original productions. Knight’s melodic selections have earned her slots on lineups with some of dance music’s most sought-after DJs, such as Black Coffee, Diplo, DJ Tennis, and more.  A woman of several talents, Knight has also posed in Vogue and SSENSE for brands like Stella McCartney and Adidas while also performing sound meditation ceremonies

London-based Joseph Ashworth is a producer who takes influences from every corner of electronic music. His rich, textured sound has found a home on revered record labels such as Siamese, Life & Death, and Disco Halal, and he recently debuted on Sven Vath’s Cocoon as part of the label’s twenty-year celebration. The techno and electronica on his debut album Grain, followed by his latest album Stay, released on his own imprint Sound Of Outside, highlight Joseph’s versatility and depth of musical knowledge. Another demonstration of why he is such an in-demand producer, artist, and remixer.

Kris Di Angelis, aka KDA, was DJing for ten years in London’s gay/fashion scenes before he released the No. 1 single “Turn The Music Louder.” Since then, he’s been hailed by different ends of the music industry for releasing projects that have satisfied the underground as much as the overground. His list of collaborators is no less eclectic, spanning all musical corners from US R&B star Tinashe (“Just Say”), Katy B & Tinie Tempeh (“Turn the Music Louder”), New York City’s Too Many Zooz (“Warriors”), trans supermodel Amanda Lepore (“NYC”) and poet Patrick Cash (“Hate Me”). Alongside writing and producing, he has launched his own label, The 40 Records, which has been in the works for 5 years, pulling together a collection of musical statements made by and with wildly individual artists.
