Prolific Los Angeles-based label, Culprit, showcases their inspired tunes for our 15th Label Lovers episode.
Started by production and DJ trio Droog in 2009, Culprit has grown to legendary proportions. Fueled by their renowned “Culprit Sessions,” a series of daytime dance parties on the Standard rooftop in DTLA , the label was at the forefront of the underground boom during the summers of 2011 and 2012.
Since Culprit’s inception, their catalogue has become quite impressive; releasing tracks from many top tier artists, including Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Lee Foss, Hot Natured, Adriatique, Soul Clap, Subb-an, Martin Butrich, DJ T., Maxxi Soundsystem, Edu Imbernon, Audiojack, Chaim, Steve Bug, Thugfucker, Audiofly, Kate Simko, UNER, jozif, MANIK, and of course, Droog, themselves. Whew! The list goes on and on and on…
Droog, Culprit, and their rooftop parties at The Standard is what initially inspired us to start Music is 4 Lovers and our Lovelife parties in San Diego. We’re excited to feature them on our Label Lovers series. Enjoy!
