What is the essence of House music? It certainly is a hard question to answer. For some, house is a sort of stress reliever, a way to escape from the pressures of everyday life. For others, it can be a spiritual or religious experience, giving individuals the ability to connect with their fellow humans in a way that can only be possible on the dance floor. Longtime DJ and house entrepreneur Lono Brazil expresses how important house music is to him, while Noir artist Josh Butler lays the house vibes on strong.
What started as a chance encounter between Lono and Josh’s manager, grew into a year long discussion that eventually culminated into Josh featuring Lono on his latest release. The entire EP is a refreshing take on the old school Chicago house sound, paying respect to the music that started it all. Dario D’Attis, Metodi Hristov, and Miguel Bastida all have their hand at a remix, leaving it a hard decision to choose a favorite.
