We start the Love List with an all-time favorite on MI4L, James Teej. This raw and winsome track keeps things simple; light piano and soft strings sprinkled over a little 808, and then cut up by James’ vocals and a ripping bassline.
2) Pattern Drama – My Position (Original Mix) [Om Records] — 2015-03-24
From Wildkats to Pattern Drama, Corey Baker always keeps it groovy. He joins the Om Records fam with his “Patterness EP”. This is the b-side track… and it’s dope.
3) Deaf Pillow – Pretensieus (Original Mix) [Baile Musik] — 2015-03-16
Spacey, minimal, groovy — feels like we’re talking to aliens on this Deaf Pillow track.
4) Digitaria – Little Boy (Original Mix) [Of Unsound Mind] — 2015-03-02
Dance floor stomper! Wicked vocals on this one. Been on repeat all month…
5) Justin Jay – You Give Me Butterflies (Original Mix) [Pets Recordings] — 2015-03-16
You Give Me Butterflies! Justin Jay is a busy man! Finishing up a degree at USC and dropping hot albums on all the dope labels — no wonder he’s playing Coachella. Well deserved. This track is fresh off Justin’s “Momentum EP” on Catz N Dogz’s label — Pets. Also, our favorite artwork on the Love List.
6) Shazse – Roller (Original Mix) [Mimesis Records] — 2015-03-25
Not sure how we stumbled on this disco jam but it’s probably our favorite track on the Love List.
7) Carl Craig, Green Velvet – Party (Original Mix) [Relief Records] — 2015-03-23
Carl Craig and Green Velvet dropped a bomb on the world earlier this month with their secret collab album “Unity” on Relief.
8) Silky, Dadon – Move feat. Cari Golden (Original Mix) [No.19 Music] — 2015-03-16
Debut track from Music is 4 Lovers founder Jon Dadon. He joined forces with Silky and Cari Golden for No.19 Music’s “Spring 2015 Sampler”.
9) Axel Boman – Coco (Original Mix) [Atjazz Record Company] — 2015-03-27
Part of the TrueSelf compilation “The Good Cause” on Atjazz — a multiple genre album dedicated to charity.
10) Jimpster – Head Spin (Original Mix) [Freerange Records] — 2015-03-23
Loving the builds and drops on this monstrous Jimpster track. Feels like we’re skiing down the slopes of Disco Mountain!
11) Uncle Roll – Knitball (Jason Wallace and Dimitri Remix) [Indiana Tones] — 2015-03-16
Swiss label Indiana Tones has been catching our eye… and ears! This remix of title track “Knitball” will get the feet shufflin’ on the dance floor no doubt. The groovy bassline and syncopated drums are sick! Love the breakdown and drop on this one too.
12) NTFO – Nue Nue (Original Mix) [SK Supreme Records] — 2015-03-24
Fun housey jam fest! Part of the “Groove Me SK” compilation.
13) Dauwd – Ritter Sport (Original Mix) [Kompakt] — 2015-03-09
Wicked tribally track from Dauwd — all kinds of stuff going on and we’re diggin’ every bit. Kompakt always coming correct.
14) Rick Wade – Grimshifter feat. Marissa Guzman [Harmonie Park Records] — 2015-03-02
It’s all about the vocals from Marissa Guzman on this disco jam.
15) Ray Okpara – Implanted Circle feat. David Ennio Minor (Re.You’s Back to Back Cut) [Mobilee Records] — 2015-02-27
Actually released late February, this epic Re.You remix made it on our March playlist. Part of Mobilee’s “Back To Back” compilation featuring 24 new tracks.
16) Maheras – Live With This feat. Cari Golden (Orginal Mix) [petFood] — 2015-03-24
Los Angeles producer Maheras collabs with Cari Golden on this dark deep house track for Lazaro Casanova and Jay You’s label petFood.
17) Dance Spirit – Outside Looking In (Original Mix) [Supernature] — 2015-03-02
More LA love on the Love List! Dance Spirit released their debut LP “The Sun Also Rises” on Supernature in early March. The album features 13 fresh tracks from the duo that are undoubtedly rising to stardom.
