Saccao aka Konstantinos Sakkas is an up and coming dj/producer that has a lot to offer in the electronic music scene. Born in 1984 in Athens, he was 14 years old when he initially stepped into the scene, playing at various bars around the city, uplifting and impressing crowds.

At the age of 18, Saccao decided to get involved at a professional level with music production. He learned to compose music through observing and listening to a wide range of DJ and producers. Around the same time, Saccao got accepted to the university, where he studied telecommunications. Here, he combined his studies with music and began performing at clubs along with the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Dousk and others.

Saccao’s first track was released on Playperview Records, and since then has signed onto labels like MEXA, Stranjjur (NYC), Cream Couture, PopArt Records, Dialtone Records, King Street Sounds, Sleazy Deep and so many more. He’s also worked in collaboration with the best in business, such as Rob Made, HNQO, Balcazar & Sordo, and Atapy.

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I am from beautiful and sunny Greece. I live in a small town called Patras. It’s near the capital of Greece.

What was the music scene like around you growing up?

Well, As we all did in our childhood, I grew up with rock, some ballads and disco for sure.

When did music production become a serious part of your life?

It became a serious part of my life 6 years ago.

When did you know that you were going to continue on doing this professionally?

Music was always a professional job for me. I started 13 years ago, playing music in some local bars and clubs. After some years, I started working with some big names around the world and after that my music production became more serious and professional.

In a few words, how would you describe your style of house music?

I love Deep House, Nu Disco, G-House. My Productions are mostly Deep House style and sometimes with Some Nu-Disco sounds inside.

What format do you use when DJing?

I usually play with vinyls and CDs.  I don’t really like playing with laptops and all those things. Yes it is easier, but the real meaning of a DJ is to put his records on and play for the crowd.

You have any big hits that are coming out in the near future?

Sure, I am doing a collab with my buddy Ran Salman. There will be 2 Original tracks: a. Saccao & Ran Salman – In My Soul (Original Mix) , b. Saccao & Ran Salman Feat. Lostcause – Places (Original Mix) and are really really big bombs !!! People Will Love them For sure. About releasing date and label it’s still a secret , but will announced them soon. Also got a collab track with Anturage & Biatlone called Anturage, Saccao, Biatlone – Do U Know (Original Mix) and it’s gonna be huge.  Already Climbers Supported the track on their Vertigo Mix and on their gigs.

Do you have any upcoming gigs that you are really excited about?

Yeah, I have a lot of upcoming gigs, planning some tours as well around Russia, Brazil, Mexico and in some countries around Europe.

Can you tell us about a few of your favorite record labels and why you like them so much?

Favorite Labels… Hmmmm… Difficult question. Well Playperview is my family,  I feel this label is like my real home … Owners are Fabo, HNQO, and Pako, my three Brazilian ”Brothers” Yeah!!!!  Also, I love some big labels Like, Stranjjur (NYC), MEXA, OFF, Nurvous, Electronique, PopArt and many more.

Who are some your favorite producers at the moment?

I have lots of favorite producers. Mostly the ones I am in very good communication with and know them personally. The Ones that are very good friends of mine like  Kolombo, Fabo, HNQO, Rolldabeetz (Fabo+Pako), Dake, Pao (Art Is A Consequence), Dashdot , LOVERDOSE, Him_Self_Her,  Rey & Kjavik, Haze-M and many more.

Have you ever collaborated with any singers?

Sure, some of them are Lostcause, Bastard Love, Tyler Jade, Shari Callista, Sanna Hartfield, e.t.c.

What advice would you give to aspiring producers?

That music must be quality and not quantity. Cause lots of people producing like 10 tracks every month. That’s not good for me, so it’s better to produce 1-2 big quality tracks every month than producing 10 tracks per month.

The Fugees – Killing Me Softly is THE TRACK FOR ME!!!

When you are not listening to or creating electronic/dance music, what are you listening to to get inspiration or just for leisure?

I love all genres of music, but I am a big fan of chill out music. I love this kind of relaxing sound, it makes me forget everything and helps recharge my batteries for my next production.

Is there anything special coming up here in the near future that people should know about?

People from Brazil, Mexico and Russia should be ready this year for some big gigs that I am playing there. So people get ready! Also, lot of productions are coming out on some big labels like Stranjjur (NYC), PopArt Music (Label Of A Great Duo And Really Good Friends From Brazil Called Dashdot), and Cream Couture Records.

What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?

Lot of productions, collabs with big names in the deep house scene, gigs, and lots of fun!

What is your preferred method of music production?

I prefer working mostly with hardware. FL Studio & Ableton are my producing ”weapons” 🙂
