[New Release] For a while it was quite a mystery who Shadow Child was, although some name drops on Twitter by various artists gave a hint or two. Today Shadow Child, aka Dave Spoon, lends his latest EP as Dirtybird’s first artist release of 2012. (Their extensive Hatched compilation series dropped in January, but the Shadow Child EP will be the first original for the label this year.). An acutely far cry from the likes of “At Night” or any of his Toolroom Knights associations, Shadow Child produces that West Coast booty bass like a San Fran native and the self-titled EP exudes what will undoubtedly become a staple at this summer’s parties. Already receiving lots of support from the likes of Eats Everything (check it on his BBC1 Essential Mix) and the boss man himself, Claude Von Stroke, make sure you disco-dancers take a listen to Spoon’s untamed alter ego.
