[Party] If you’ve ever been to a Circo Loco event, then you know their parties are just criminally fun.  If you’ve never been and you don’t know AND you’re lucky enough to be heading to Miami next week, don’t miss this one at the Surfcomber Hotel.  The line up boasts twelve hours of soul slugging music, pretty much guaranteeing you’ll have a good cry when it has to end. This is one of the earliest parties of MMW though, so keep checking back at Music Is 4 Lovers because we’ll have more recommendations of parties happening later in the week that’ll lift your spirits. [New Release] An updated remix package with a couple of “producers of the moment” for a classic house track feels like it has been done a million times. However, it’s really hard to think of the last time it’s been done as good as this. The always fantastic Noir Music brings us 4 really cool, really different remixes, from Subb-an, Laura Jones, SIS, and Larse. The Subb-an remix is  the pick of the bunch for us lovers (definitely a WMC bomb), but don’t sleep on the others! [News] Ultra Music Festival 2012 Lineup Announced – Includes “up-and-coming DJs”

[News] I received an email the other day with a press release from the Ultra Music Festival announcing their Phase I lineup. As the curious music lover I am, I checked out what the ever popular festival was offering this year. To my surprise, I found a few black sheep among the mainstream electronic music acts, appearing on day three of the festival. Reading through the press release, I found Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler described as the “up-and-coming” DJs of the festival in the same paragraph with announcements for David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto. I suppose a congratulations is in order for the “up-and-coming” DJs that made the festival this year and perhaps a lesson on the definition of “up-and-coming” is in order for Ultra’s press writers.

 

All in all, it’s apparent to me that if any of you are attending Ultra, it is Sunday, March 25th (Day 3) that is the day to peep the festival. Recommendations for Day 3 are Damian Lazarus, Art Department, Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones. There are some techno and tech-house acts that are certainly worthwhile as well.

Marco Niemerski from Hamburg, known in clubs and bedrooms across the globe as Tensnake, is one of the most exciting and loved producers currently working. [New Mix] Visionquest Podcast Episode 001 feat. Shaun Reeves

[New Mix] Visionquest – Shaun Reeves, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson & Seth Troxler – has released the first episode of their new podcast series. Up to bat for the debut episode is Shaun Reeves (Berlin/Detroit) who delicately finds the perfect balance between house and techno for this initial mix.

When he’s not conjuring up bombs in the studio or trawling through record shops and the farthest reaches of the internet in search of forgotten gems and untapped jams, that sound decidedly fresh and exciting, Shaun remains committed to pushing all genres of dance music forward. His is music not just for the dance floor, but also for the body, soul…and brain. As the recent resurgence of interest in the border between house and techno makes all too clear, Shaun has always been one to set musical trends rather than follow them.
