[New Release] The amount of new music coming into my life out of the Nordic lands lately has been surprisingly beautiful and more than welcome. Kasper Bjorke. Wow. This EP features remixes by Permanent Vacation, Hannulelari, PillowTalk and Tone of Arc of his divine ‘Deep Is The Breath’, which was the second single from his recently fresh LP ‘Fool‘ on hfn Music, rooted in the DJ’s lands of Denmark. The original while light and dancy features various makeovers that take it from a deeper sound to a tech trip out. [New Release] Paraguay partnership LPZ releases this trippy, acid-boogie EP on Body Work.  Tech house energy on title track “1983″ sets the tone for the rest of the release as a relentless emitter of good vibes and each layered element effortlessly ensures dance floor movement.  ”Mafia” takes the later night approach to energy dispersion by deepening both the kick and the bassline and reverberating the elements for a big, dark space feel.  Finally, “Snake & Butterfish” takes the release into slow, slow techno territory — an even darker space than “Mafia” — its raw and stripped back sounds leaving you to disco dance through a mind melt.  This impressive EP is must-listen.

[New Release] Anthony Collins – Exhibit ‘A’ (Natural History)

[New Release] Smooth.like.silk. Light and airy, I am seriously loving the lifting energy of Anthony Collins‘ Exhibit “A”. The little riffs, the lingering beats, the sporadic vocals … it’s delicately dazzling. The last track ‘Cooper’ definitely stands out as my personal favorite … effortlessly fluid. His style exudes the influence of his upbringing, spending time between New York and in his father’s jazz recording studio in LA  and the South of France with his mother where he first experienced the energy of electronica. A delicate fusion of deep house, minimal, and tech house … Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I lead you to Exhibit “A” …

[New Release] Sishi Rosch – No More Hits EP (Get The Curse Music)

[New Release] Deep, heavy, melodic, ghetto, funky… So many words can describe Sishi Rosch’s new EP, but one word that definitely comes to mind is DARK!!!  Out now on Get The Curse Music, No More Hits EP is a strictly ominous record that journeys deep into the world of techno while still retaining that infamous Rosch style.  With remixes from Siopsis, Clement Meyer, and Tomas More,  expect to hear this one played in dark warehouses and in many late night sets.

 

The first song, ‘Relax Your Legs,’ is aphotic with haunting vocals and a darkened bass line. The title track ‘No More Hits’ stays on the same path taking you even further into the darkness that is this EP.  ‘Harlem 4 am’ is the pinacle of the release as the depth and other-worldly feel is culminated in its bassline and echoing vocals.  Siopsis adds his own style to ‘Relax Your Legs’ by adding a caliginous melody and giving the song a largely techno feel. Finally, Meyer and More join forces to bring you their own obscured version of the title track with heavy energy for the dance floor.

 

Overall this whole EP is incredible and commits itself to a dark mood and tone. I always look forward to any release from Sishi and this one is no exception. I expect to hear more great things from him and I look forward to his future productions.

[Forthcoming Release] Amirali … WOW. Beautiful. Simply sublimely entrancingly beautiful. He has stolen my heart with his subtle combination of deep but downbeat energy, mesmerizing vocals, dark but beautifully light vibes, and euphoric sounds. It is evident in his alluring amalgamation of styles the range of what he notes as his greatest influence of his father’s record collection which opened his eyes to classical, jazz, blues, and rock’n'roll. From ‘The Harmonious Sound’ which is wholly angelic to the darker ‘Hear Me’ – every song on this LP set to release on Mi4L favorite Crosstown Rebels is enticing and spellbinding. I can’t even pick a favorite. They all have me hypnotized. This.is.ART! True talent and straight quality. Words cannot do this LP justice, you have to listen and experience the essence for yourself …
