[Forthcoming Release] Deniz Kurtel – The Way We Live EP (Wolf+Lamb)

[Forthcoming Release] Crosstown Rebel queen, Deniz Kurtel is at again with these three packaged singles, which will also appear on her upcoming full-length in June on Wolf + Lamb. Deniz teams up with some Wolf + Lamb labelmates, collectively deemed The Marcy All-Stars, to create three wildly unique tracks.  If this is any indication of the musical diversity on the album, it’s bound to be a good one.  ”Thunder Clap” with Voices of Black is predictably slow and soulful, a little funky and completely appropriate when you disco-dancers start getting weird in the early hours of the morning. Tanner Ross supports on “The Beat Drops,” appropriately titled with a heavy bass note starting out the track, but a sliver of light shines through when a sexy saxophone lends the melody and a deep voices narrates.  ”I Knew This Would Happen” featuring PillowTalk is a downtempo and lengthy journey through a synth jungle (well, made up of a single, never ending synth) and a perfect round out to the EP.  Deniz is a true artist, and her vision and soul shine through her musical work. The release is available May 7th, and don’t forget to keep a look out for the full length soon there-after.

If you’re a Southern California disco-dancer, don’t forget to see Deniz in action with Tanner Ross at Analog Bar on Friday.

[Forthcoming Release] Voice of Black – Atom Bomb

[Forthcoming Release] Here comes Voices of Black with a lot of sexy rolling off their musical minds. The two are carving out a seriously unique and soulful sound, in an industry inundated the same sample packs.  Their latest, Atom Bomb (out April 23rd), brings you back to a twisted reality of drawn out synths, jazz-infused melodies and a slow-slow groove that just packs the touch-me heat.   Tanner Ross lends his talent on a remix that takes you down to 98 (!) BMP for some ultra-slow groove cooking, while No Regular Play does the opposite by flitting straight to the dance floor grind. The three modes of Atom Bomb–Ross, Original, and No Regular Play — make this EP a vision of dance music symbiosis.

[Forthcoming Release] Guess What Crosstown Rebels 094 Is

[Forthcoming Release] Earlier this week we reported about Jamie Jones’ upcoming second album, Tracks from the Crypt. Yesterday Crosstown Rebels posted previews of Jones’ first single from the album, titled “Our Time In Liberty,” on their Soundcloud. The distinct synth-stab melody, Kenny Glasgow’s vocals and staple, heavy Crosstown bass generate a uniquely energizing track, that will surely be played out (and already has been played) extensively by the Rebel crew by the time it is released April 10th. The real highlight here, however, is Russ Yallop remix in which the elements are significantly lightened while keeping the bass heavy and grounded giving an enchanting and more dreamy effect to the original track.  Collaborating here with superstar duo Art Department, Jamie Jones is sure to escalate further up the ranks of legendary with this release and those to follow on the album.

[New Release] Noir & Richard Davis – Found Out (Noir Music)

[New Release] Noir Music releases the “Found Out” single by Noir & Richard Davis, which includes a club re-rub in addition to the original mix. This is the follow-up single to the huge club-hit “Noir & Haze – Around” from 2011. This time Noir teamed up with Berlin-based Richard Davis for his beautiful vocal work and the result are just as emotional, heartfelt and dark as no1. single Around is. Noir has once again turned a blind eye to the trends, kept his own style/sound and created something outstanding for the electronic music lover.
