[New Release] The amount of new music coming into my life out of the Nordic lands lately has been surprisingly beautiful and more than welcome. Kasper Bjorke. Wow. This EP features remixes by Permanent Vacation, Hannulelari, PillowTalk and Tone of Arc of his divine ‘Deep Is The Breath’, which was the second single from his recently fresh LP ‘Fool‘ on hfn Music, rooted in the DJ’s lands of Denmark. The original while light and dancy features various makeovers that take it from a deeper sound to a tech trip out. Personal favorite remixes: Permanent Vacation Breathless Mix and PillowTalk Remix Feat. Tone Of Arc.

[New Release] tINI’s debut album, Tessa, would imaginably need no support from any remixers. The album is stand out as a stand alone work, and a work that Desolat and tINI are surely immensely proud of. However, the Tessa Remixes add some beautiful takes to the LP’s seemingly perfect collection of sounds.
Carl Craig’s remix of “My Shine” is a hard-hitting, club version of the original. Craig adds a dark twist to the previously dreamy vocals, and shifty hi hats propel this track into 3 am territory.
Pulshar reinvents the wheel in “Mine Has A Shower” by ridding the track of its darkest elements and infusing it with lighter vocals and layering synth melodies, while managing to maintain tINI’s creative expertise — soul-penetrating depth. The result is an almost entirely new track that harvested only the most basic elements of the original.
“Blonde Galipette” is one of the most subtle and delicate tracks on Tessa, its understated elements coming together to form a beautiful braid of sounds. Martin Buttrich’s remix ups the energy by complicating the composition and breaking up the vocal elements.
I didn’t think it could get better than Tessa but this collection of reworks is an incredible compliment to the album and is a must-listen for you deep and techy disco dancers.

[New Release] Fresh off the press here is a remix release of Atapy‘s successful track ‘Move Baby‘ from his own imprint, Cimelde. Remixers include Sasch BBC & Caspar, Jackspot, Thyladomid, Simon Beeston, Fabio Victor and Mossimo Cassini. [Free Download] Who loves free? Who loves Eats Everything? Well here you get both! Eats Everything takes this classic dance floor jam and adds a bit of his special flavor for this rework. The man from Bristol puts his signature emphasis on percussion, as well as layers looping vocals, and adds additional synths to the original tune. These revisions transform the track into a modern day fit for the dance floor. If you are in a jump up, get down kinda mood, this jam is perfect to keep the good times rolling!
[New release]Scissor & Thread are at it again by releasing another remix package of Francis Harris’s amazing album Leland. After an initial vinyl-only release, these tracks are now available digitally via beatport.
First up, you get the remixes for ‘Lostfound,’ which is one of my personal favorite tracks from the album. Martin Herbert’s vocal and dub mixes add an even more exclusive sound to the already hearty track. Black Light Smoke’s unique and incomparable sound is added to the track with his own live remix. I was able to catch his live show at BPM Festival and his intoxicating take on this track was one that surely set the mood. Finally Steve Bug adds a heavenly remix of the track ‘Pensum’ which will leave anyone in a euphoric state.
Overall this is a another strong release from Scissor & Thread and there is much to look forward to from them!
[New Video] Break out star, Shlohmo, had a supreme year due to his cardinal release, Vacation, which is a jarring, haunting and dreamy-beautiful collection of sounds. Hailing from the super-alternative (but extremely interesting) LA-based label, Friends Of Friends, the young producer recently toured overseas for the first time and is bound to keep making the big moves for years to come. The creativity of his music and the audio captivation he garners will allow him to go nowhere but onwards and upwards. First of all, make sure to look up Shlohmo’s art. Second of all, check out the latest video of “Rained the Whole Time,” remixed here by the always wonderful Nicolas Jaar.
