[The Scoop] Now that WMC 2012 has ended, we can all go back to living our lives without a guilt-inducing, alarm-sounding level of envy directed at those who were able to experience the sanctity of Miami during dance music’s equivalent of the High Holidays. Indeed, there is so much to look forward to now: great new releases for summer, rooftop parties, Movement Detroit, and the summer festival season! [Party/Club] A Miami fixture for internationally renowned house music, you can’t go wrong at The Electric Pickle in the upcoming week (or possibly ever). With a capacity of only around 300, the Pickle is packing some of the best parties of WMC with the intimacy that is lost at the larger events. Known for its laid back, but sexy and sultry, vibe don’t miss your chance to get down with the best in music and partying. The opening party is tomorrow, featuring Catz N Dogz.

Planet E: From Detroit, With Love Wednesday, March 21

Know the roots of the music you love–techno here will be at it’s best. I’ve seen Cassy in Tel Aviv (perfect) and Seth Troxler in Berlin (perfect) and it couldn’t be better to have them in the same room together. The rest of the line up is wonderful too. As the Pickle says, “This Night is about MUSIC and MUSIC ONLY. No clicks, no trick, no substitutes. Detroit Techno celebration with Carl, Kevin, Stacey, Cassy, Seth, Ann, Paris and ya’ll.” Sounds perfect.

If you’re looking for a little more tech house in your life, with deep house around the edges, this line up is amazing and I can’t imagine the energy ebbing for even an instant. And, umm, schedule is 7am-5am…which means you can definitely get some rest in between this and Get Lost on Saturday and then go alllllllllllllllllll morning/day/night/morning ;)

 

You better be practicing those sexy moves you disco dancers because you’re going to be using ‘em non-stop!

[Party] If you’ve ever been to a Circo Loco event, then you know their parties are just criminally fun.  If you’ve never been and you don’t know AND you’re lucky enough to be heading to Miami next week, don’t miss this one at the Surfcomber Hotel.  The line up boasts twelve hours of soul slugging music, pretty much guaranteeing you’ll have a good cry when it has to end. This is one of the earliest parties of MMW though, so keep checking back at Music Is 4 Lovers because we’ll have more recommendations of parties happening later in the week that’ll lift your spirits. Get your stretch on Miami disco dancers, this is going to be a serious test of your dancing endurance. Keep the icepack close.
