In our first Project, we present Subb-an (LIVE) [Culprit, One Records, Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound] who might need little to no introduction as he has been hitting the charts in a real big way! With releases on some of the hottest labels, including local favorits Culprit, Crosstown Rebels and many more.  He has also collaborated with some of the best artist in the industry, including Maya Jane Coles, Nic Fanciulli and more. 

This will be Subb-an’s first LA appearance and real treat to music lovers!  If you love Art Department, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Droog,  Cassy, Claude VonStroke, Craig Richards, Danny Howells, Deniz Kurtel, Lee Burridge, Maya Jane Coles, Soul Clap, Tanner Ross, Three, Voices of Black, and Wolf Lamb, then there is a good chance you won’t want to miss this!  festivalZOO will be providing theatrics to keep the night interesting!!

[Party] As this beautiful Los Angeles Summer wraps up, Harmonic will host their BASK season closing party at the Standard Rooftop in Downtown on Sunday September 25th with impeccable talent from all over the globe. Headlining the event will be house and techno powerhouse BUTANE of Berlin/US.
Sharing the stage on this glorious day of beats will be SLOW HANDS, hailing from New York City’s underground house scene, Slow Hands, aka Ryan Cavanagh, makes deep house music to dim the lights to.
Another pair of acts from the US and EU will be opening the event during the peak time sun hours. Harmonic is proud to host a super hot London group at the moment – WILDKATS. With releases on Lower East, Niem, and an upcoming EP on Hot Creations, this duo will be freshly arriving from destroying a 5 show tour in Mexico.
Opening the show will be their close Los Angeles counterpart JAKE PATRICK of Harmonic and Music Savages. Now this is a serious day of music to bask in. Please arrive early and spend the day celebrating and truly enjoying this beautiful season at the Standard rooftop.

[Party] September 11th will mark the 23rd edition of the Culprit Sessions at Standard Rooftop in Downtown, Los Angeles. Having just wrapped up their 22nd edition with the Hot Natured crew, Jamie Jones & Lee Foss, it seems the Culprit guys have endless tricks up their sleeves. If you’ve attended any of their events this year, or any year since the Culprit Sessions inception, it has probably left its mark on you like it has on us. Contracting world-class talent and producing an internationally famed rooftop event time and time again has made the Culprit Sessions a must in the rooftop party world.

Up next to bat are two pillars upon which the house of Culprit has been contructed: Matt Tolfrey & Lee Curtiss. Both artists were, along with Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Ken Gibson, the first Culprit believers – they threw their considerable talents and reputation behind a young untried label, have continued to give strength and have supported the Culprit mission unconditionally.

Jimmy Maheras will also make his long overdue Culprit appearance along with San Francisco vocalist, Kevin Knapp. Droog, never failing to please, will also be providing support on the DJ front in true Culprit tradition.

[Party] Cuprit Sessions 22 – Hot Natured (Jamie Jones & Lee Foss) + Droog and Richy Ahmed (Sun. 8.28.11)

[Party] On August 28th, Culprit Sessions will host one of its most eagerly anticipated events of the year…any year, really. A sweet homecoming of sorts as two of Culprit’s original artists and the two people most responsible for shaping the Droog/Culprit Sessions @ the Standard and its global reputation return triumphantly.

Since laying down the blueprint for future rooftop shenanigans with three Standard appearances back in 2008 and early 2009, Jamie Jones has been busy taking over the world of discerning dance music with a slew of mega hits and a whirlwind of memorable DJ gigs.

His long-time close friend and musical companion Lee Foss was even more instrumental in the development of the Culprit brand. His meteoric rise from the the studio obsessive in his first months after the fateful move from Chicago in february of 2008 to his standing of immense popularity now, Lee has had an incredible journey.

Richy Ahmed is one of the top Hot Natured/Hot Creations lieutenants, having risen steadily over the last two years, whilst DJing everywhere from UK to Ibiza, Berlin and Russia. Richy is a true character and we warmly welcome him to the fold.

As usual Droog throw their collective DJ hats in this wildly appealing ring.

This is certain to be the day party of the Summer for LA. It would be foolish to miss this one.

Special guest lineup for this event will include Matt John, Thugfucker, Clint Stewart & Jake Patrick. I keep saying this, but its true: The Standard Rooftop parties are incredible. Around the time Summer hits its peak,  has fixed another tasty daytime installment of the BASK series at The Standard rooftop Downtown. This time around BASK will feature two headliners, each from either side of the Atlantic. A warm welcome is in order for Berlin veteran MATT JOHN, of Perlon, Bar 25, and Circoloco fame. A king of extended after hour sets (like the 30 hour set at Bar 25 on his 30th birthday!), Matt is focused on taking the audience on a journey through soundscapes of minimal, house, and techno. His style was been described by Groove magazine as “New School Hyperkinetic”, with no definition as to what it meant! Why New School? His sound is rather classical, based on an old form of techno, also with attributes of minimal and Detroit. A musical expert like this will undoubtedly deliver a “Holographic” closing set on the rooftop!

Sharing the headlining duties is New York based duo THUGFUCKER (Greg Oreck, and Holmar Filipsson). A former international aid worker teams up with Icelandic security specialist and former top model to create an international DJ super group. Certainly not what you’d expect from a group called Thugfucker, although the duo has been making their markson festivals all over the world in 2011. Simply put, they play music that turns you on, freaks you out, moves your ass or whatever else makes you feel good…just as long as you’re having fun. Greg is half responsible for running the label Life and Death (which is currently on fire!!). Holmar and Greg bring the party to the party. And the after party. And the after-after party. This LA debut will freak the party right.

New Poker Flat up-and-comer CLINT STEWART of San Francisco, and Avalon resident and Harmonic’s own JAKE PATRICK will open what should prove to be a memorable day of musical fun in the sun.
