He has stolen my heart with his subtle combination of deep but downbeat energy, mesmerizing vocals, dark but beautifully light vibes, and euphoric sounds. It is evident in his alluring amalgamation of styles the range of what he notes as his greatest influence of his father’s record collection which opened his eyes to classical, jazz, blues, and rock’n'roll. From ‘The Harmonious Sound’ which is wholly angelic to the darker ‘Hear Me’ – every song on this LP set to release on Mi4L favorite Crosstown Rebels is enticing and spellbinding. I can’t even pick a favorite. They all have me hypnotized. This.is.ART! True talent and straight quality. Words cannot do this LP justice, you have to listen and experience the essence for yourself …

[New Release] Out now on the Kompakt Digital imprint is the release “Running Man / The Sun” by WhoMadeWho featuring two title tracks with remixes from David DK, Martin Dawson & Catz ‘n Dogz, and Tomas Barfod.

Whomadewho’s Brighter is a famously tight marvel of an album, brimming with heroic pop moments and poignant grooves for any club potatoe to savor. One of the very best tracks and a personal favorite of many a Kompakt staff member is undoubtably Running Man. It is no wonder then that we could gather a quite impressive collection of remixes, including a sweaty rework by French edit wizard Pilooski and a heavily bouncing mix by Catz ‘n Dogz and Martin Dawson (of King Roc fame). More dancefloor extravaganza comes from notorious Dave DK, whose prolific work ethic might very well mark him as the original running man, and WhoMadeWhos Tomas Barfod: the drummer once more shows his striking skillset when it comes to the analysis of a hookline, making his expertly sequenced arrangement a true monster of a club anthem. Together with the original version of Running Man, we also included the radio edit of The Sun… because thats how good it is.

[New Release] Although it seems like it should have happened sooner, the hugely popular Guy Gerber returns to the production game and marks his first release on his buddies’ label, Visionquest. The title track is classic Gerber, journeying into some deep, melodic techno, with new layers of sound constantly being unveiled as the record progresses. “One Day in May” is more tailored for the dancefloor, with a harder kick and more percussion, while still keeping that trademark Gerber depth. [New Release] Just released on digital yesterday, this sexy EP by the Belgian duo, Polar, features remixes from Chloe and Marketing Music’s boss, Tim Paris.  Started in 2005, the label features a wide range of releases, from electronica to techno to deep house, and its appreciation for the eclectic shows through on this EP.  The whole release is worth a listen from start to finish, as it moves from high-energy and dancey to the lighter, more dreamy reworks at the end.  The dark vocals and deep, entrancing baselines could push any party into the afterhours and beyond (just how we like it) and have already garnered support from artists like Soul Clap, Catz N Dogz and Seth Troxler.  Keep it movin’ into the AM disco dancers!
