When it comes to straight up genuine four to the floor doof doof, Hira is going to be mentioned at some point or another. The Nederlander has been making quite a ruckus in the last year by pouring out a constant flow of well rounded club gear. We are pretty chuffed to have nabbed him for JJ003 because he has delivered a gem.
Other Side Of House EP consists of one original mix, and three remixes. Two from label frontman Nico Mendez, and one from fellow Glaswegian and good friend JFunc.
The original mix is a track that ticks off every one of our check lists for a JJ record. Its one of those tracks that bring’s the good’s without trying to hard. A simple bass line, crispy percussion and a flurry of interesting stabs and samples come together to allow this track to do it’s own thing perfectly without a care in the world. And thats why we love it so much.
Nico offers up two take’s on the original, one deep mix and a wicked dub mix that are both full of his signature flavours. JFunc hands in a more left field master peace that totally changes the direction of the EP. We simply cant get enough of it.
