The DoLab’s 2nd annual Woogie Weekend was one for the books! On July 8th through the 10th, the beautiful Oak Canyon Park in Silverado California was turned into a music wonderland with some yoga, great food, a giant water slide and a water balloon fight added into the mix. The Hive and Kaleidoscope stages kept your ears happy, the food vendors kept your stomach smiling, and the people kept your heart shining. If you had a hard time finding a break from the music, you were not alone. The music selection couldn’t have been any better. With acts like Blond:ish, Joeski, Lee Reynolds and Rodriguez Jr. keeping the days vibes going strong, the “nighttime crew” reminded us why we don’t need sleep. If you’re familiar with the trippy Kaleidoscope Stage (if not, check out the recap video below) you know how it adds an incredible visual experience to the music; Beacon, Jon Hopkins, Extrawelt and Matew Jonson all had the us feeling like we were on another planet! The Hive stage was just as wild, and LA’s “after hours” crew; Subtract, Noise Revolt’s RevoLounge, DEEP and Favela Bar, were what most people talked about over their morning (or afternoon) coffee and/or beer.

Music is 4 Lovers was on site and wanted to get the community interacting and involved so we handed some markers and a blank canvas to festival goers and asked them to draw a ‘Woogie.’ Here’s what they came up with. Thank you to all the participants and the creative energy, it was great meeting new faces and making new friends. Enjoy!
