Exceptional remix from Amsterdam-based producer, Luuk van Dijk, off Man With No Shadow’s Black Tulip EP out Aug 1st on Tom Budden‘s seamless label, ALiVE Recordings.
Dedicated to House music, ALiVE has a back catalogue of artists which include Leftwing & Kody, Shadow Child, Shall Ocin, Waifs & Strays, Yousef, Cera Alba and many others of a similar calibre.
This new release features original material from Man With No Shadow. following previous EP’s on ALiVE, many will recognise from his seminal releases on Shinedoe’s label Intacto Records.
Luuk van Dijk who has previously released on labels like Food Music and Roush, is an established DJ in his home town of Amsterdam in Netherlands, where he is a regular guest at many of the city’s leading events and has even played back to back sets with the likes of Huxley.
Luuk van Dijk’s remix of “Trooper” has a slightly deeper take on the original, he starts by adding his own warped bassline and uplifting pad. Keeping all of the originals stripped back charm, the vocal remains the driving force, but this rework is all about the extended break and truly satisfying arms in the air moment when the bass and kick come crashing back in.
