Interview with LauterBach

How did you get into dance music and DJing? Do you remember a specific moment of inspiration or was it an evolution?
I’ve loved music for my whole life and it always been the best thing for me to dance in the club to sound that I like to. I started 3 years ago a trip through Asia with my best friend, where I had my first experiences with making my own sets. Back in Munich I learned how to mix, with the help of good friends.

What’s the scene like in Munich? What parties and/or clubs would we want to check out?
So, the scene in Munich is a kind of hard. More and more promoters making big mainstream Open Airs or Festivals, which makes it not easy for us to stage our own events.

For me the best clubs are the Harry Klein, Rote Sonne for example and under the week the Pimpernel and Gruam, but I prefer to dance on small underground Open Airs, if I can find the time.

Do you have any residencies?
There are two small clubs, the Pimpernel and the Gruam, where I play every month. It’s every time a lot of fun over there.

Which do you prefer – 115 or 125?
I prefer music from 80-124 BPM. I try to find the best music for the right moment. In a club I like to play good and deep techno and on a chilled after hour I love to play some down tempo & world Mmusic. At Pimpernel and Gruam I mostly play 8-hour sets, so I can start slowly to get harder later that night.

What gig do you dream about?
Playing at 6 in the morning in the sunrise on the Fusion Festival.

What cool things do you have planned for 2016?
I started to produce my own tracks this spring and my desire is to release a track in the next years. :)

Tell us about your mix…
My Mix for you is a very chilled one, on 114 BPM. With some of my favorite summer tunes. This is the sound I prefer to listen in the warm times of the year :)

Drink of choice…
Vodka-Mate
