Another month, another buzzing musical destination to attend, and Playa Del Carmen is on the tip of everyone’s tongues this fine January. Floods of talented artists are descending upon the white sand this week, bringing their finest selections and crews to come together for groundbreaking performances at fringe showcases. So let’s wander off the beaten BPM path and check out what some of our favorites are up to down south-shall we?

Monday: California is representing on Monday! The Los Angeles Culprits are taking over Fusion Beach Club with the family, while Smoke & Mirrors turn it out at Lost Avenue, featuring Psychemagik, Maxxi Soundsystem, Pillowtalk Live and two of our favorites from the San Fran Sunset crew Galen and Solar.
Tuesday: Noir teams up with some Suara kittens and the absolute legendary Kevin Saunderson for some Tuesday groovin’.
Wednesday: Apollonia takes the cake for their 2nd BPM Showcase at Fusion on the 8th.
Thursday: Thursday seems to host very impressive parties for the week. “Rip-Sip-n-Trip” embraces the holistic and covert Playa vibes, featuring inspiring artists such as El_Txef_A, Pattern Drama and D’Julz at a secret location who will take care of you musically along with the promoters offering shuttles to and from the festival, artistic stimuli, food, drink an mad vibes. Also extremely striking this day is the Diynamic showcase featuring Stimming Live and David August Live along with many more deep seated selectors.
Friday: Our favorites from the Big Apple are taking over Fusion on the 10th with live performances from Bob Moses and Black Light Smoke along with a set from label bosses themselves Frank & Tony-sure to be a family affair you do not want to miss.
Saturday: Saturday is absolutely STACKED! From Damian Lazarus’s Day Zero, Visionquest’s Superpleasures, Harvey & Parrish at Coco Maya and of course our own Jon Dadon hittin’ the decks for Endless + Surface, it is going to be one hell of a weekend.
Monday: Touch Of Class is bringing their refined sound to Bar Adelita on Monday (round 2), featuring mostly live action as well as a some expert selections from LA duo Low Tide, Discern and more.
Tuesday: Still going? The San Francisco Sunset crew will be bringing their loving vibes and fabulous musical friends to Papaya Beach Club to round out the party marathon.
Should be quite the ride, bring it on 2014!
