Samu.l – Pacific State (Surface)

Samu.l on Surface

They’re only eight releases in, but Surface has quickly risen as a top label to follow. Label heads H-Foundation have done an amazing job consistently recruiting the most innovative tech house producers to meticulously craft a uniquely opaque and complex Surface sound.

Samu.l, who has recently released music on Dave Seaman’s new label Selador, Subb-an and Adam Shelton’s One Records,  and Los Suruba’s Suruba X, adds another sharp and energetic work to his production collection. Pacific State is an engulfing EP, poignant and directed yet a fully immersive experience. Because they’re emotionally drawing and physically irrepressible, each track will leave dancers with “what’s this track” on lips and minds.

The remixes by Reset Robot, Jordan Peak and Marasco lend heavier and more rounded elements to the EP – great choices by the label to fully diversify the EP’s sound – making this release a no-brainer purchase.
