Established in 2010, London Electronic prides itself as one of the most forward thinking and unique event organizations in London. Founder Derren Smart, known for his programming and promotion at the infamous T Bar in London, as well as other various ventures in that scene, has helped usher in a new echelon of partying to the London underground. Smart’s recruitment of talents such as Nicolas Jaar, Simian Mobile Disco, and Wolf + Lamb have helped put London Electronic on the map.
Friday October 19th will mark the return of one of the hottest parties to hit London, as London Electronic presents: Crew Love. This incredible event will be held at the posh, open Loft Studios in London. Headlining this hearty lineup is the ever growing and mystifying duo of Wolf + Lamb. In addition to the DJ duo, their corresponding label artists will be in tow as well—Pillowtalk, No Regular Play, A&A from Love Fever, and rumors of a special guest appearance from the legendary Soul Clap. With a line up like that, this party is sure to go off.
For those unfamiliar with Wolf + Lamb, the group got its start back in 2002 through a series of underground parties masterminded by members Zev Eisenberg and Gadi Mizrahi. Their unique interpretation of electronic house music was first made popular in Brooklyn through their notorious venue at The Marcy Hotel. After gaining much international success, they founded a label of the same name in 2005 and created a breeding ground for the Brooklyn based label to promote and release the music that they had become inspired by. The W+L label quickly gained notoriety through signing the likes of Deniz Kurtel, Nicolas Jaar, No Regular Play, Soul Clap, Voices of Black, Tanner Ross, Slow Hands, and many more. Over the past few years Wolf + Lamb has evolved into one of the most exclusive and sought after labels/parties in the industry.
This year’s Crew Love will see the much-anticipated introduction of Pillowtalk to the lineup. Pillowtalk has risen quickly through the ranks of the underground deep house scene and the San Francisco based group will be looking to excite the crowd with their live electronic boogie-infused house music.
No Regular Play, a group consisting of Greg Paulus and Nick DeBruyn, will bring an electronic fusion of 90’s hip hop, Jazz, and Afro-Cuban percussion to the party, in what is sure to make for a truly unique and amazing musical journey. A little hometown love from London’s own A&A of Love Fever, will add a special familial element to the coveted show.
The event is shaping up to be another successful London Electronic event (how could it not be with such a stacked lineup of the industries hottest talents?)
