[Forthcoming Release] Lower East has been releasing nothing but quality house music since it’s conception in 2010 by Cozzy D, Lee Brinx, and Dexter Kane. With already more than a handful of stellar releases they gift us with this beauty by Alfred Taylor, an EP titled Akagi. Although he may be better known for his work with the group Dusky, Alfred Taylor will surely be a household name after this debut solo release.
This whole EP from beginning to end is simply amazing. Alfred explores many vintage sounds while still keeping that modern feel. The title track, ‘Akagi,’ is a garage influenced track with melodic bass, soulful vocals, and a memorable atmosphere. The next song, ‘Anymore’, goes more into the techy side with an ominous bass line and soft vocals that are sure to get anyone moving. Label heads Lee Brinx and Cozzy D combine to give us their own stellar remix of the track ‘Anymore,’ with a spaced out feel that is sure to send you to another dimension. The final track, ‘ What You Need,’ is another original from Alfred and with its popping sounds, warm synths, jacking rythym, and deep bass, this one is sure to be heard on many dance floors.
Overall this album is incredible; it’s a true testament to the talent that Alfred Taylor possesses. Expect to hear all these jams in constant rotation.
